On Saturday 17th September we were the chosen wedding caterers for Suzi and Tom that married at a quaint, holiday cottage venue near Winkleigh in Devon.

The couple had very firm ideas of what they wanted for their wedding breakfast from when we first met them and that was a selection of canapes followed by a barbecue served on sharing platters for all the guests to help themselves.

The couple married in the small corn barn at Country Ways and were then received by their guests out on the lawn which really has a spectacular view of the Devonshire countryside. We served prosecco along with a selection of homemade canapes which included chicken satay, tomato mozzarella and pesto toasts, goats cheese and red onion tartlets, our famous Okehampton sausages with a honey and mustard glaze and finally breaded prawns with a sweet chilli dip.

The wedding party sat to tuck in and share platters of barbecue glazed chicken thighs that are sourced from Credition in Devon, not far from us! Along with a balsamic glazed vegetable kebab and finally marinated belly of pork…

…along with a selection of fresh, homemade salads, warm new potatoes and our artisan breads.

For dessert the newly married couple chose to have a trio of small desserts which included a lemon posset pot, warm sticky toffee pudding with a rich toffee sauce and raspberry pavlova’s. This was all accompanied with freshly brewed coffee and tea.

Suzi and Tom and worked really hard on the day prior to their wedding along with family and friends to decorate their marquee. Suzi also made all the bunting which looked amazing! To add another great ‘wow’ factor the couple hung different colour lanterns in the trees around the marquee.

Another great wedding, set in the beautiful Devon countryside. Congratulations again Suzi and Tom and thank you for letting us share in your wedding day.
