On Saturday 8th September, we had the pleasure of catering for the marriage of Zoe and Daryl. The couple married at the beautiful Crediton church before returning to a marquee in the grounds of Sandford Cricket Club for their reception.

The couple had a rustic theme in mind so opted for wooden trestle tables adorned with spray painted bottles with simple floral arrangements.

The place names were simple yet so effective and our folded linen napkins provided the perfect frame to make them really stand out.

As the guests, arrived we greeted them on the terrace with glasses of Prosecco garnished with strawberries, bottled beers and orange juice. Guests could mingle on the cricket pitch as Emily Fleur Photography captured some great images in front of the beautiful backdrop of the Creedy Valley. We served a selection of cold and warm canapes to cater for everyone, including miniature assorted poppadoms topped with chilli, garlic and lime chicken and micro coriander; roast beef miniature Yorkshire puddings with horseradish cream…

For the wedding breakfast, we served a barbecue style menu to table on platters so that guests could help themselves. These pretty menu’s were placed on each table so guests knew what they were expecting…

We served 4oz peppered rump steaks…

…butchers 100% beef burgers, both sourced from our local butchers in Okehampton, chicken satay skewers with chicken sourced from Creedy Carver near Crediton,with a peanut sauce…

Crediton Wedding Caterers

…and halloumi, mixed pepper, red onion, aubergine and courgette skewers with a honey and soy dressing along with a selection of homemade salads, artisan breads and condiments.

The salads included included mixed green leaf salad with homemade wholegrain and olive oil dressing; classic creamy coleslaw; Mediterranean roasted vegetable with penne pasta; and cous cous, roasted peppers, red onion sun dries tomatoes, feta and fresh herbs.

Launcells Barton Wedding Caterers

To follow, we served a trio of desserts: baby pink strawberry pavlova, rich chocolate brownie and lemon cheesecake with bowls of Devon clotted cream. This menu meant that Zoe and Daryl had no need to request a pre order from their guests, significantly reducing their work load.

Milton Barn Wedding Caterers

To finish, we poured freshly brewed English breakfast tea and fresh filter coffee along with homemade chocolate truffles and mints and glasses of Prosecco ready for the speeches.

In the evening, we cleared the tables ready for the evening reception where we served warm traditional miniature pasties with sauces and chutneys and a selection of West country cheeses along with assorted wafers, celery and grapes and homemade chutney.
