Last October half term we had an extremely busy week with four weddings over three venues, in two counties Devon and Cornwall.
The first of the two Cornish weddings was at Launcells Barton near Bude in Cornwall. Here on Wednesday 24th October 2018 we catered for Charlotte and John, that created an Autumnal, woodland, wedding for their midweek wedding guests.
Charlotte and John created a real treat for their guests with lots of Autumnal colours, tea lights, coloured vases, flowers, candles, animals, pumpkins, vintage crockery and even jelly beans!
Charlotte’s mum had made the most amazing photo booth with animal masks that were so real, all the guests were talking about them.
There were also other personal touches such as the table plan that was made to match the day…

The couple married in The Mill Barn before enjoying drinks and our homemade canapes in the grounds. We served a selection of chicken pate on crostini with homemade chutney, smoked salmon, cream cheese and dill blinis…
…olive bread crostini with whipped goats cheese and sundried tomatoes and finally hot arancini with a chilli dip.
The couple wanted us to serve a three course wedding breakfast to their guests, they chose ham hock terrine, a homemade pate and a pear, Roquefort, watercress and toasted pecan nut salad along with artisan breads and Cornish butter.
The main course was crispy belly pork with caramelised apples and a cider sauce, chicken supreme with a white wine, mushroom, tomato, tarragon and cream sauce and finally a vegetarian meal which was a mushroom, tarragon, tomato and pine nut strudel with a Madeira sauce. All these dishes were accompanied with roasted potatoes, green beans, braised red cabbage and roasted butternut squash with sage.
The homemade dessert selection was chocolate truffle torte, Caroline’s famous sticky toffee pudding or vanilla panna cotta with a red berry compote and of course Cornish clotted cream.
In the evening the couple cut their brilliantly painted wedding cake before starting of the dancing, we then served a cheese slate full of West Country cheeses along with their wedding cake before we left for the day.
