On Saturday 10th September we were the chosen wedding caterers for Bek and Rich who married at the beautiful venue of Muddifords Court, Cullompton, Devon.
Most unusually for us, we only met Bek and Rich one month before their wedding when then showed us around their quirky venue. Bek and Rich decided to get married here, then have some photos in the beautiful grounds before heading into the main barn for a three course wedding breakfast which was cooked on site and all homemade.
Bek and Rich chose to decorate the barn with peacock feathers and had table names from around the world…
…which included drinks from that particular country. Our favourite was tequila for the Mexico table!
For the starters the guests chose from a roasted tomato and fresh basil soup, chicken, brandy and thyme pate with toasts and a dressed salad or a duo of melon with a port and orange sauce.
The main courses were local chicken breasts from Crediton which were wrapped in bacon and stuffed with wild mushrooms and served with a Madeira sauce. There was also a Creedy Carver duck breast with an orange and honey sauce and finally a sweet potato, mozzarella and sun dried tomato strudel.
For desserts, we served a choice of an individual mixed berry pavlova, or a chocolate torte with fresh raspberries or warm sticky toffee pudding with lashings of sticky toffee sauce, all accompanied with Devon clotted cream.
As this wedding was a real family day, there were twenty children we also needed to be catered for. They tucked into our artisan breads with butter to begin with then had a chicken roast dinner followed by some of Devon’s finest ice cream.
The sun came out in the afternoon, while the guests sat out and enjoyed the setting of Muddifords courtyard and their very own “Nip Inn” keeping the beverages supplied.
A lovely day, in a beautiful setting which we are sure Bek, Rich and all their guests will never forget.
