On Saturday 15th July, we were the chosen wedding caterers for the marriage of Lucy and James in a marquee on the family farm near Broadwoodwidger in Devon. The couple along with their team of helpers decorated the marquee beautifully, entwining the marquee frame with ivy and placing pretty jugs of gypsophila in the centre of each table.

The wedding cake was stunning, simple yet elegant made by Dollybird Bakes.

As the guests arrived, we greeted them with a glass of garnished Pimm’s and lemonade, a bottle of corona or cider, all served from a wooden dresser.

Whilst the rain did descend, this did not stop guests from tucking into a selection of warm and cold canapes which included, goats cheese, thyme and red onion tartlets; roast beef mini yorkshire puddings with horseradish cream; chicken satay with peanut dipping sauce; and tempura prawns with sweet chilli dip.

For the wedding breakfast, guests enjoyed a buffet which included roast West Country beef sourced from our local butchers in Okehampton; home cooked gammon ham with a honey glaze; puff pastry open tart with mixed red peppers, red onion and cheddar cheese, drizzled with homemade pesto; roast potatoes and new potatoes; mixed green leaf salad with homemade wholegrain mustard and olive oil dressing; classic creamy coleslaw; cous cous, roasted peppers, red onions, sun dried tomatoes, feta and fresh herbs; beetroot, walnut on rocket with balsamic dressing along with a selection of homemade chutneys and condiments, artisan breads and Devon butter.

To follow, for dessert we served our famous dessert sharing platters to each table. Pink raspberry pavlovas, chocolate and salted caramel brownie, classic creme brulees, lemon tart squares with lemon confit adorned slate platters along with bowls of Cornish clotted cream for guests to  share among themselves. To finish, we poured freshly brewed English breakfast tea and fresh filter coffee along with homemade truffles and mints.

Rick’s Bar from Wilsey Down Pub which is in between Launceston and Camelford ran the bar, throughout the day. They have a really good, professional bar set up and were great to work with.

After we had cleared everything away, we left the happy couple, their family and friends to dance the night away.

Thank you Lucy and James for letting us share your special day and many congratulations once again.
