On Saturday 17th June 2017 we were the chosen wedding caterers for Ellie and Matt that probably chose the best Saturday of the summer wedding season to marry!
The weekend started at the beautiful venue of Launcells Barton, near Bude on the Cornwall/Devon boarder on the Friday. Here an army of Ellie and Matt’s friends were busy at work preparing for the day. We set the tables ready for the florist Val Shadrick and Ellie to put the finishing touches on.
The couple chose to marry in the lovely Walled Gardens at Launcells Barton as the weather was so amazing. Following their special ceremony we served canapes while the team at Launcells served the beverages to keep the guests chilled.
Ellie and Matt wanted to have a traditional three course meal for their wedding breakfast, they chose to serve their guests for starters, homemade butternut squash and sage soup, chicken liver, brandy and thyme pate or Thai salmon fishcakes all accompanied with an artisan bread selection.
For the main course we served traditional roast beef with homemade Yorkshire puddings and all the trimmings, a chicken breast with Caroline’s famous Somerset Brie and Smoked Bacon Sauce or Sweet Potato, Sun Dried Tomato, Mozzarella and Basil filo Tart all served with a selection of crispy roast potatoes and fresh season vegetables.
Following the wedding breakfast and the entertaining speeches that the boys told the guests ventured straight back outside to enjoy the afternoon sunshine along with the bouncy castle and garden games. These kept the young and old children happy for hours…..
In the evening the new Mr and Mrs cut their stunning wedding cake that tied in with Ellie’s colour theme of rose gold, grey, blush and succulents. It also tasted delicious as ever, made by Hannah’s Cornish Cakes, a supplier friend.
We served a hog roast with homemade sage and onion stuffing and apple sauce, before leaving the guests to dance the night away.
A truly wonderful day on one of the best days this British summer had to offer us. Congratulations again Ellie and Matt.
