On Saturday 26th August it was our pleasure to cater the wedding of Kate and Darren, who chose to marry at Muddiford’s Court, near Cullompton in Devon.
Our weekend started on the Friday when we set up the venue to Kate’s requirements and ensured that everything was in place for the following day.
Kate had some fun favours for each guest, which included… for the ladies…
…and for the men….
Saturday morning we arrived early in beautiful sunshine, which stayed with us for the duration of the day. We made finishing touches and waited for Kate and Darren to make their vows in front of their friends and family.
As they made their way from the Cider Barn where the ceremony took place we served Pimm’s and bottled beers to their guests while the newly weds took a minute to catch their breaths. One of our supplier friends Mark from Evolve Photography was busy capuring the shoots of their day, even finding his way to the doorway roof…
The guests took a break from the warmth of the sunshine for the wedding breakfast which we served sharing antipasto platters of prosciutto, salami, chorizo, mixed olives, sundried tomatoes, dressed leaved along with artisan breads.
For the main course Kate and Darren wanted each of their guests to enjoy a homemade pie or traditional sausages and mash with onion gravy, we also served a homemade filo tart of sweet potato, mozzarella, sundried tomatoes and fresh basil along with a selection of fresh seasonal vegetables.
For dessert, Kate and Darren chose a trio of homemade delights that included crème brulee, raspberry pavlova and chocolate brownie all accompanied with Devon’s finest clotted cream.
After moving the tables away and preparing for the new Mr and Mrs to cut their cake we served a hog roast of pork and also topside of local beef for a change, which we carved in the courtyard to Kate and Darren’s friends and family.
