On Saturday 19th March we were the chosen wedding caterers for Jess and James that held their wedding reception at Launcells Barton, near Bude in Cornwall.
Jess and James married during covid last year with only themselves and two witnesses, so to be able to have a blessing at Launcells Barton followed by a wedding reception was the icing on the cake for them.
The day prior our team headed to set up the venue, Jess and James were on hand adding their own personal touches, which included name tags for the guests to plant that contained flower seeds….
… and table centres that James had made, complete with tea lights, succulents and a bottle of fairy lights.
Due to the beautiful Cornish weather the canapes were served outside for the guests to enjoy. These included Mini Yorkshire Pudding with Smoky Chicken and Sweet Alioli, Honey Glazed Pork Belly Chunks with Sour Cream and Chive Dip and Mini Butchers Sausages with a Sticky Hoi Sin Glaze.
For the canapes we also served two vegetarian options of Sweet Potato, Ginger and Spring Onion Samosas and Foccacia Crostini with Whipped Goats Cheese, Olive, Fig and Apple Chutney.
The Wedding Breakfast began with a selection of Devon Artisan Breads and Homemade Dips of Olive Tapenade, Saffron Mayonnaise, Balsamic with Olive Oil and Cornish Butter.
For the Main Course we served Roast Topside of Devon Beef with Homemade Yorkshire Pudding or Chicken Breast with a White Wine Mushroom, Tarragon and Tomato Cream Sauce. With a vegetarian option of Butternut Squash, Spinach and Ricotta Filo Tart with Pesto. All three dishes we served with Roast Potatoes, Carrots, Broccoli and Green Beans.
The Dessert Course of the Wedding Breakfast included Individual Mixed Berry Pavlova.
A Lemon Tart with Red Berry Coulis.
Or a White and Dark Chocolate Brownie with Chocolate Sauce. All of the desserts were served with bowls of Devon Clotted Cream.
To finish the Wedding Breakfast we served Fresh Filter Coffee or Tea with Homemade Chocolate Truffles and Mints.
James even made the cup cake and wedding cake stand that showed off these beautifully little cakes so well. All different flavours of cup cakes that looked delicious.
Lovely to be back catering for weddings and what a way to kick of our wedding catering season. Great to be back at Launcells Barton and lovely to meet Katherine who took the shot of the couple on the front of the blog.
