Looking back to the 23rd September 2022 we were delighted to return to the stunning setting of Coombe Trenchard for the wedding of Andy and Liv, with all its Edwardian splendour, located close to us here on the fringes of Dartmoor in West Devon.
Andy and Liv had thought of every detail and covered every base in the lead up to their wedding, with a slight change of date due to the shenanigans of the pandemic, we were delighted to be delivering the food and drinks service for the duration of their special day.
With a selection of Sparkling Wine, locally sourced Pale Ale and Lagers served during the drinks reception, we accompanied them with a popular selection of our bestselling canapes: Mini Assorted Poppadoms topped with a Chicken, Ginger and Lime Mayo with Micro Coriander, Buckwheat Blini with Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese and Fresh Dill, Mini Butchers Sausages with a Sticky Hoi Sin Glaze, Porcini Mushroom Arancini with Saffron Mayo Dip.
The guests then made there way on a journey of discovery through the beautiful grounds to the Coach house for the Wedding Breakfast, the room had been beautifully and tastefully decorated to blend with the surroundings, with arrangements from “From the Wild Florist” based in Exeter
Along with green candelabra adorning tables named after the couples favourite destinations in The Lake District, with linen napkins and menus finishing off the tables beautifully.
The guests enjoyed a three course dinner served individually to each guest, the chosen starters were: Cream of Watercress Soup, Smoked Haddock and Spring Onion Fishcakes with a Homemade Tartar Sauce, Marinated Bocconcini, Charred Tomato & Basil Salad, with Rocket and Homemade Pesto served with Baskets of Artisan Bread with Devon Butter
Seasonal main courses including Slow Cooked Blade of Beef Served in a Rich Red Wine, Mushroom and Smoked Bacon Sauce, Sea Bass Fillet Served with Sauce Vierge and Butternut Squash, Feta and Pecan Nut Wellington Served with a Madeira Sauce.
The Wedding Breakfast was completed with a selection of homemade desserts our Classic Creme Brulee with Shortbread, the legendary and perfect for Autumn Sticky Toffee Pudding with ‘Lashings’ of Toffee Sauce
Autumn Raspberry Individual Pavlova.
After the guests had been served fresh filter coffee, homemade truffles and mints they all made there way back to the main house for the speeches and cake cutting, to then return to a night of fun filled dancing and laughter in the Coachhouse. The night was even more special as, two guys that had come down from Bristol to play during the day and to get the dance floor bouncing into the evening, these guys played in the pub where Liv and Andy used to go when they first met. They were amazing!
To finish our day we served a selection of bowl food to warm the guests and act as good beer munchies for anyone in need! -Chilli Con Carne, Chicken Korma, Vegetable Tagine, Served with Fragrant Basmati Rice, Poppadoms or Naan Breads & Condiments went down a treat, and with that our work was done!
It really was such a pleasure to look after Liv and Andy who we formed a real bond with during the planning process, we wish them the all very best for the future.
Finally a shout out to Clare Kinchin who took these amazing shots of Liv and Andy.
