On Saturday 6th July we ventured to Chycara, near Truro in Cornwall to cater for the wedding of Claire and Ryan. We do not venture to Truro but as Claire is related to Jo and our fab team were all keen and embraced it, we all set off on a road trip.
The day arrived and with beaming sunshine all the way we knew we were in for a fun day. There was even a shout out on Radio 2 from Dermot O’Leary for Claire and Ryan as we arrived.
The newly weds share a love for hill climbs in Volkwagen Beatles, so very fittingly the wedding party arrived in a colourful convoy of Beatles.
Ryan even personalised the card post box to this theme.
After a ceremony at Gwennap Church the guests made their way to Chycara a venue at Bissoe for the reception. As the weather was so good the guests enjoyed drinks and canapes in the gardens, whilst mingling and having photos.
We served a goats cheese, thyme and red onion tartlet, roasted vegetable and tomato bruschetta…
…mini butchers sausages with a honey and wholegrain mustard glaze and finally crispy chicken skewers with a mayo dip.
After enjoying ice cold beers and Pimm’s the guests were called into the welcoming air conditioned room for the Wedding Breakfast.
Claire had hung coloured lanterns from the ceiling and stunning flowers with a lit candle on the tables with metal cut Beatles with different table names that related to trial sections, which all look amazing.
Each table had a hessian runner with lace and each guest had a quiz to complete which included tips for the bride and groom, a drawing and the most enjoyed part of the day.
For the Wedding Breakfast we served roast topside of beef with Caroline’s big Yorkshire puddings…
…or chicken breast with a creamy brie and smoked bacon sauce…
…or a vegetarian dish of sweet potato, mozzarella, sun dried tomato and basil filo tart. This was all accompanied with crispy roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli and green beans.
For the desserts Claire and Ryan chose our sharing platters, that we love to serve, a selection of homemade goodies that included creme brulee pots, strawberry pavlovas, chocolate truffle torte and lemon cheesecake, these look amazing and always go down a storm!
This wedding was no different and they even feature in James’s fantastic video at 3.46!! ;0) Click here to see the video!
In the evening following the newly wed’s first dance, we served a finger buffet for the guests to enjoy which included hot potato wedges, warm pasties and sausage rolls, freshly made sandwiches, quiches, vegetable crudities…
…and the delicious wedding cake that was made by Christine Hawker and that featured Claire and Ryan on the top.
This was a truly wonderful day, great to work alongside our favourite videographer James from Motion Farm and see lots of friends and family. Many congratulations again Claire and Ryan and we wish you all the very best for your future together.
