On Wednesday 4th August we had the honour of catering for the wedding of Lisa and Chris on Chris’s Family Farm, near Stratton and Bude in Cornwall. This wedding had been postponed twice due to Covid and it was so nice to finally be able to cater.
The weather was beautiful and so the guests enjoyed welcome drinks of Pimms and a selection of Beers and homemade canapes on the lawn in front of the barn, after their wedding ceremony at Launcells Church. The views were amazing – you could see nothing but the Beautiful Cornish Countryside for miles and even the sea in the distance.
While enjoying their drinks and canapes, the guests were able to keep themselves entertained with some fantastic garden games! Jenga…
Noughts and Crosses…..
Splat the Rat….
The canapes we served the wedding guests included Mini Butchers Sausages with a Sticky Hoi Sin Glaze,
Sun Dried Tomato Crostini with Crisped Parma Ham and Cream Cheese, Smoked and Poached Salmon Pate on Granary Toasts with Micro Dill,
and Wild Mushroom, Camembert and Red Onion Tartlets.
Lisa and Chris worked so hard preparing the sheep shed as a wedding venue, they both had amazing vision and all the hard work definitely paid off. The whole farm was wedding ready!
The wedding breakfast was eaten inside of the barn which had been transformed and decorated to make the most beautiful rustic barn wedding venue. The red bricks in the walls looked so amazing with the added signage making the whole barn have a more personal feel.
The table plan was strung inside a tyre which was a great idea especially as Chris loves a tractor or two….
As the Guests entered the Barn, they were met with this beautiful stack of boxes put together by Chris’s Mum showcasing photos of the couple throughout the years.
The tables were decorated with burlap along with flowers and candles which added some beautiful colours to the barn.
The sheep theme was continued throughout the barn with this fantastic sheep pen in the corner,
and this amazing handmade ‘Thank Ewe’ sign.
The wedding breakfast was made up of a choice of Roast Topside of Devon Beef with a Homemade Yorkshire Pudding and Rich Gravy,
Chicken Supreme with a Creamy Leek, Mushroom and Bacon Sauce or Butternut Squash, Stilton and Pecan Nut Wellington with a Madeira Sauce, all served with Crispy Roast Potatoes, Broccoli, Carrots and Green Beans.
For dessert, the guests had the choice of individual Summer Berry Pavlovas, Apple and Blackberry Crumble with Jugs of Custard, Chris’s favourite,
Warm Dark and White Chocolate Brownie with Chocolate Sauce.
Lisa and Chris’ rustic theme was carried through onto their beautiful semi-naked cake with a pop of colour being added by the gorgeous flowers, arranged by Val from Kilkhampton (Flowers by Val).
Congratulations once again Lisa and Chris, it was a total pleasure being part of your special day and thank you for letting us play a part in it.
