We had the privilege of providing the wedding catering for Ed and Chloe’s Wedding on the 24th July 2021.

We returned this week to Coombe Trenchard for another Hatch Marquee wedding set in the beautiful gardens with views of the amazing Devon countryside and Brentor Church on the iconic hill.

Chloe and Ed hoped to marry on the terrace, but the weather was not being kind so the decision was made to relocate to another setting at Coombe Trenchard, the Coach House. This area looked equally stunning and made for a special occasion.

The weather stayed dry for the guests to enjoy drinks and canapes on the terrace and a chance for the children to run and explore this stunning venue.

The canapes we served were Sun Dried Tomato Crostini with Crisped Parma Ham, Cream Cheese and Sun Blushed Tomato, Mini Roast Beef Yorkshire Puddings with Horseradish Cream,

Honey Glazed Belly Pork served with a Sour Cream and Chive Dip and finally Wild Mushroom Arancini  with a Saffron Mayonnaise were served for the wedding guests to enjoy.

The guests headed into the house for speeches before taking their seats in the marquee for the Wedding Breakfast, picnic baskets were served to the children followed by a 3 course meal for the adults.

The trestle tables looked so pretty with pale pink and green runners along with cut stems of beautiful flowers, adding a real burst of colour.

We also had a ladder hanging from the roof of the marquee that the families decorated with fresh flowers, to add another dimension.

The wedding breakfast started with individual Antipasto Platters of Prosciutto, Salami, Chorizo, Marinated Mixed Olives and Sun Blush Tomatoes,

Marinated Bocconcini, Charred Tomato and Basil Salad with Rocket and homemade Pesto,

and Breaded Camembert, Redcurrant Jelly and a Dressed Salad all served with a selection of Artisan Breads, Balsamic, Olive Oil and Devon Butter.

The main course was Crispy Pork Belly (the brides favourite) served with a Caramelised Apple Cider Sauce,

Coffee Infused Braised Beef Short Rib served with Creamed Mash Potatoes – a special sentimental meal to Chloe and Ed as its what they ate when they got engaged in South Africa!

and finally a Mushroom, Pine Nut, Tomato and Tarragon Strudel with a Marsala Sauce, all served with Dauphinoise Potatoes and a selection of Carrots, Broccoli and Green Beans.

The guests had a choice of a trio of desserts including Banoffee Pie, Sticky Toffee Pudding and Lemon Cheesecake with Lemon Confit, again favourites of the couple or a selection of Westcountry Cheeses including Somerset Brie, Cornish Yarg, Tickler Mature Cheddar and Quickes Smoked served with Grapes and a Selection of Assorted Wafers.

After the meal and as the weather had dried the guests were able to take a wonder through the gardens and enjoy some garden games while sipping on cocktails from Coombe Trenchard’s Peacock Bar.

We stayed to cater for the evening food which included Jamaican Patties brought by Chloe’s Family and a Westcountry Cheese board, all adding a welcomed refuel to the guests who were dancing the night away to the fantastic Step ‘n’ Soul band that came down from London.
