Many people think we are just wedding caterers… in reality we cater for a whole range of events. In March, we were invited to cater for the Okehampton and West Devon Civic Dinners in both held in Okehampton Charter Hall just down the road from our preparation kitchen.
For both dinners we served 3 course meals of starters, main course and dessert followed by freshly brewed English breakfast tea and fresh filter coffee. With both dinners close together and many of the same guests attending both, Caroline carefully designed both menus to ensure they were seasonal, using the best of local produce and offered different selections for guests to choose from.
Okehampton civic dinner’s menu included a beetroot, whipped goats cheese and walnut salad with rocket and balsamic dressing amongst the other starters on offer…
Main course included chicken supreme sourced from Creedy Carver in Crediton, served with a honey and dijon mustard sauce…
and crispy pork belly with caramelised apple and rich jus….
Caroline’s desserts are always popular, finishing the meal on a sweet note. Okehampton civic dinner were treated to poached pear and chocolate pavlova with chocolate sauce, lemon and rhubarb posset with shortbread and
stem ginger and treacle tart.
Whilst, West Devon civic dinner were treated to warm french apple tart with vanilla cream, tia maria cheesecake with chocolate and hazelnut topping and lemon confit and marscapone cream sponge roulade.
