After a delayed start to the year due to the big C, we hit the floor running in July with mainly weddings, some of which had been postponed some not.
However, we are more than just Wedding caterers and cater for a wide range of events and during October we catered for some of our regular clients, some new friends and assisted in providing refreshments to those who were saying there goodbyes and remembering at a number of funerals.
Hatherleigh PTA returned to Hatherleigh Community Centre after having to postpone previously for there fun-filled fundraising event. Always fantastically supported, and great fun we were delighted to attend again and provide the catering.
With a selection of canapes to start the evening off, Mini Yorkshire Puddings filled with Baby Sausage and Caramelised Red Onion, Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Blinis with Fresh Dill, Parmesan Shortbread, Sundried Tomato and Basil, these were enjoyed whilst the guests had a good old catch up! A Sharing Style main course followed with everyone able to help themselves for a relaxed and informal vibe, followed by sharing desserts of Blueberry Vanilla Cheesecake with Blueberry Confit, Chocolate Malteser Mousse and Baby Raspberry Pavlova.
We were also busy in and around Okehampton, providing Business Lunches in and around the town, and as we have in the past supporting Christine Marsh for her Charity fundraiser to raise money for the renowned Christmas lights display in the town and Everything Okehampton Charity, where 150 guests enjoyed an informal hot buffet selection of main courses and desserts, and an informal hot buffet lunch for the Arts Society in the town on the same day, to keep us on our toes.
We also returned to Tavistock for the Civic Ball, an event that had been caught in the pandemic and rescheduled twice, but eventually the night happened in the stunning Tavistock Town Hall with 130 guests and a three course plated dinner with a band and lots of dancing after.
Not forgetting where it all started for Oaktree many years ago, it was lovely to be back amongst old friends in Holsworthy for the first Town Council Dinner to be held this century! Reviving a lost tradition was a great idea and proved to be a well attended event, a three course plated dinner was enjoyed by all who came, with dishes such as Whipped Goats Cheese and Toasted Walnut Salad and Salmon with a Gremolata Crust a fantastic night with everyone who attended agreeing it must become a regular event!
A very varied month for us in and around Devon, if we can help in anyway with any type of event big or small, whatever or wherever it may be, please do not hesitate to contact us.
