Our last wedding to blog about from 2021 and its a beauty!!
On Saturday 18th September we headed back to the great venue of Milton Barn, near Bude in Cornwall for the wedding reception of Holly and Jack. The good old Cornish weather may have been a little on the damp side for a wedding but the atmosphere definitely made up for it and all the guests were up for helping this fab couple celebrate.
The day prior to the wedding, we set up, laying tables and making sure all the finishing touches were perfect ready for the next day.
The rustic wedding tables fitted in really well with the rustic charm of Milton Barn, Holly had made her table numbers and an initial for each guest out of metal.
As well as making table numbers, Holly made their wedding cake which was chocolate and raspberry and we were told it tasted amazing!! She even made ‘The Wellys’ sign on top of the cake.
For a bit of fun the couples parents hung photos of them as children and when they first met, so all the guests could see the obligatory child in the bath photo…
On the day itself we served drinks on arrival that included Pimm’s and bottled beers for the boys, that always go down well. With these we served a selection of homemade canapes which included Chicken Yakatori Skewers with a Ginger and Soy Dip,
Mini Butchers Sausages with a Sticky Hoi Sin Glaze,
Crispy Bacon and Cheddar Tarts
and Red Pepper and Goats Cheese Bites with a Tomato Salsa
For the wedding breakfast we started with a selection of Artisan Breads, Olives, Sun Dried Tomatoes and Homemade Dips, followed by Roast Topside of Devon Beef with Caroline’s famous Yorkshire Puddings, or a Chicken Supreme with a White Wine, Mushroom and Tarragon Cream Sauce or Butternut Squash, Spinach and Ricotta Filo Tart. All served with Crispy Roast Potatoes and Fresh Seasonal Vegetables.
As these families love their chocolate, so we agreed to serve Light Chocolate Torte, with a Chocolate Drizzle,
Chocolate Profiteroles with a just warm Chocolate Sauce or an Autumnal Raspberry Pavlova, with lashings of Clotted Cream.
In the evening when the party really got started we served homemade pizzas to keep the dancers fuelled, with a selection of Hawaiian, Barbecue Chicken or Margarita
We left the party in full swing, with the dancefloor absolutely packed! The guests all added to their outfits with glow sticks, glasses, bracelets, necklaces, all made from glow sticks! We think everyone had at least one glow stick on them!
Why the Welly title and the odd nod to Welly’s, well the new Mr and Mrs are called Wellinton, so what a perfect fit!
What a fab day and we loved being part of all the action. Many congratulations again Holly and Jack!
