On the 31st July, we had the pleasure of catering for the wedding of Annie and Ben.
The Wedding was on Annie’s parents farm, near Winkleigh in Devon, in one of their Barns, temporarily repurposed for the wedding day. The barn looked beautiful, you’d never be able to tell it was usually used to house cows!
White drapes and a carpet really added to this wedding venue.
The Tables were decorated with fresh cut flowers that had been grown by friends and family in the lead up to the wedding as well as individual bottles of Sloe Gin for all the guests as favours.
The weather was amazing which meant Annie and Ben’s guests were able to enjoy their welcome drinks and canapes outside the barn and on the lawn.
Their welcome drinks included a Gin, Apple and Elderflower Cocktail (to represent an English Country Garden, it went down a treat), Beers and Elderflower Presse.
The Canapes chosen for the guests included Chicken Liver & Thyme Pate Crostini with Devon Chutney and Amaranth,
Buckwheat Blini with Gravadlax, Cream Cheese and Fresh Dill,
Crab, Ginger and Lime Crostini with Micro Coriander,
Foccacia Crostini with Whipped Goats Cheese, Olive, Fig and Apple Chutney,
Wild Mushroom, Camembert and Red Onion Tartlett,
Mini Butchers Sausages with Honey and Wholegrain Mustard
The main course of the Wedding Breakfast was Roast Topside of Devon Beef with a Homemade Yorkshire Pudding and a Rich Gravy,
Sweet Potato, Mozarella, Sun Dried Tomato and Basil Filo Tart with Homemade Pesto, Vegan Sweet Potato, Sun Dried Tomato and Basil Filo Tart with Homemade Pesto all served with Crispy Roast Potatoes and a Selection of Carrots, Broccoli and Green Beans.
For Dessert, the guests had a trio of Raspberry Pavlova, Chocolate Brownie and Banoffee Pie.
Annie and Ben had 4 different Wedding Cakes, all made by Annie’s Mum. The all had different flavours and all looked absolutely beautiful!
Evening food of Miniature Pasties and a Selection of Westcountry Cheeses including a Somerset Brie, Tickler Mature Cheddar and Applewood Smoked served with a variety of crackers, celery and grapes to give the guests some much needed fuel for dancing.
During the evening, the Bride and Groom were surprised with ‘Fabba’, an Abba tribute act put together by Annie’s siblings and their partners. They were absolutely amazing and it was a great way to get the dancing started!
Congratulations once again Annie and Ben, it was a pleasure being part of your special day!
