Last week our summer roadshow took us to Holsworthy where we were catering for the Members, Officials and Exhibitors Tent at this year’s Holsworthy and Stratton Agricultural Show.
We started off by serving a good old traditional English breakfast with local bacon, sausages and eggs all coming from Okehampton. This was enjoyed by members, committee, corporate trade stands that invited their customers and a few lucky winners that entered the show competitions.
For lunch we served topside of beef from Launceston and our own cooked honey roasted Gammon alongside our now famous Devon Pasty Pie, which everyone was talking about! All this was accompanied by hot new potatoes, which was very much appreciated by the folks that had got wet in the morning and a selection of salads.
Finally a selection of homemade desserts which included pavlova, rich chocolate torte, warm blackberry and apple crumble, lemon cheesecake, traditional sherry trifle and profiteroles with a chocolate sauce. All topped off with a fresh filter coffee or tea.
As well as serving breakfast and lunch we catered for the stewards and judges, ensuring they all received their snack to keep them going throughout the day.
To finish we decided on serving homemade cream teas, which went down a treat as the sun had come out and the sides of the marquee were opened to see all the activity in the main ring.
