Back on Friday 20th August we had the pleasure of catering at the wedding of Nicola and Alex, at Nicola’s parents beautiful family farm overlooking the rugged North Devon coastline, we were so pleased to be here at last after having to postpone a number of times due to the events of the last 18 months.
Although the weather kept us guessing initially, the guests enjoyed Welcome Drinks of Pimms, beautifully decorated and regularly topped up by our amazing staff.
along with Beers for the boys, kept nice and cool in the Beerbarrow!
The Canapes included Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese and Dill Blinis with Micro Dill
Wild Mushroom, Camembert and Red Onion Tartlet, handmade at our dedicated premises in Okehampton.
Mini Butchers Sausages with a Honey & Wholegrain Mustard Glaze- always a favourite!
and Crispy Chicken Skewers with Mustard Mayonnaise Dip, definitely a bestseller
The table plan was really inventive and crafty and looked great, the invaluable table plan so guests know where to sit is an absolute must for us to deliver flawless service.
The inside of the Marquee supplied by Hatch Marquees was beautifully decorated with draped fabric and hanging ivy, we love these chairs! The log centrepiece and garden flowers complimented each other perfectly.
The wedding Breakfast included Roast Topside of Devon Beef with Yorkshire Puddings and a Rich Gravy,
Chicken Supreme with a leek, Mushroom and Smoked Bacon Cream Sauce,
and Sweet Potato, Sun Dried Tomato & Mozzarella Tart with a Basil Pesto, all served with a Medley of Carrots, Broccoli and Mange Tout and the Marfona Potatoes, supplied of course by Mr Bellew himself!
A Trio of Chocolate Brownie, Mini Raspberry Pavlova and Creme Brulee Pots, finished off the meal perfectly and is still a popular choice of dessert.
The Wedding Cake was a collaboration between both ” Mum’s” . A beautiful three tiered cake of fruit, chocolate and lemon flavours was enjoyed by the guests in the evening, The addition of the photos of the happy couple made it a real focal point for the room.
Words of wisdom sheets were were also available for guests to write down any advice they had for the Bride and Groom to look back on and reminisce.
An evening Hog Roast provided welcome evening food Locally Sourced Hand Carved Roast Legs of Pork, Homemade Apple Sauce and Homemade Sage and Onion Stuffing all served in a Granary or White Floured Bap, fuelling the dancing and ensuring no guests were left hungry.
Many thanks and congratulations again Nicola and Alex, it was a pleasure to be part of your special day.
