There has not been many occasions this year, so far where we have had glorious sun shine for the arrival of newly weds and their guests. Saturday 28th May, has been the exception and the wedding of Charlotte and Tom really had the Pimm’s flowing as it truly was the perfect day for a Pimm’s.

A glorious tipi, sat on the edge of Dartmoor welcoming the guests as they arrived from the church to enjoy drinks and canapes.

In the perfect sunshine, the guests enjoyed drinks whilst we served a selection of canapes. With eight different types the guests had plenty to choose from. These included Tempura Prawns with a Sweet Chili Dip.

Chicken Tikka Masala on Poppadoms with Mint Creme Fraiche and Micro Coriander; Wild Mushroom, Camembert and Red Onion Tartlets and Sun Dried Tomato Crostini with Parma Ham, Cream Cheese and Sun Dried Tomato.

Or famous Butchers Sausages with a Sticky Hoi Sin Glaze; Honey Glazed Pork Belly Chunks with Sour Cream and Chive Dip; Crispy Chicken Skewers with a Mustard Mayonnaise Dip and Roast Beef Mini Yorkshire Puddings with Horseradish Creme Fraiche. Something for everyone to enjoy.

As arrival drinks and canapes came to a close the guests were asked to take their seats inside the Tipi for the Wedding Breakfast to commence.

Tom’s very clever dad had made a bar from an old land rover and it really did create a ‘WOW’ factor!

Tom’s aunties were also pivotal on the day with one making the cake and one being a florist, the flowers really were stunning.

Charlotte and Tom had decided on a two course Wedding Breakfast. The Main Course consisted of three choices; Slow Cooked Blade of Beef served in a Rich Red Wine; Mushroom and Smoked Bacon Sauce with a Puffy Pastry Croute.

Chicken Supreme served in a Creamy Leak, Mushroom and White Wine Sauce or a Sweet Potato, Mozzarella, Sun Dried Tomato and Basil Filo Tart served with Homemade Pesto. Alongside these dishes we served Buttered New Potatoes, Carrots, Green Beans, and Braised Red Cabbage in dishes for the guests to help themselves too.

For the Dessert Course of the Wedding Breakfast we served Classic Creme Brulee with Shortbread.

Sticky Toffee Pudding with ‘lashings’ of Toffee Sauce.

Or a Glazed Lemon Tart with Raspberry Coulis. To accompany these dishes bowls of Devon Clotted Cream were served to the tables for the guests to help themselves too.

To finish the Wedding Breakfast we served Fresh Filter Coffee and Tea with Homemade Truffles and Mints.

Tom and Charlotte’s wedding cake was made up of four different flavours for their guests to enjoy in the evening.

The Evening Food….Pizza’s! We served a selection of Homemade Thin Crust Pizzas; including Margarita, Hawaiian and Barbecue Chicken, which went down a treat! Along side this was a selection of Cheeses, Assorted Wafers, Celery, Grapes and Homemade Chutney.

To ensure no one felt the cold in the evening, Tom’s dad also made an outdoor wood burner which worked very well at keeping the evening chill away.

Small bell tents were set up for guests that wanted to stay over, their very own tent village. Having catered for Charlotte’s sister and brother in laws wedding in 2019, they knew that the bell tent village worked really well and added to the atmosphere of the weekend. Not far to stumble at the end of the day either…
