Saturday 12th March we were pleased to return to Tavistock Town Hall for the annual dinner of Tavistock Lions, another event that we missed catering at last year due to covid! With a really good attendance, the Lions of Tavistock and their guests were pleased to be out and celebrating their club after this time.
Despite covid trying its best to cause problems to the organisers, the dinner went ahead and was a great night.
We served a three course dinner that began with starters consisting of Cream of Celeriac Soup with Buttered Croutons and Crème Fraiche; Mushrooms, Smoked Bacon and Thyme in a Cream Sauce on Sourdough Toasts and Poached and Smoked Salmon Pate, Granary Toasts and Dressed Salads. Alongside the starters, Artisan Breads and Devon Butter were served.
The main course included Lamp Rump with a Herb Crust in a Rich Redcurrant, Port and Rosemary Sauce, which was a huge favourite,
For main courses we also catered Chicken Supreme stuffed with Wild Mushrooms with a Creamy Leek and Smoked Bacon Sauce; while the vegetarian option was Butternut Squash, Spinach and Ricotta Filo Parcel with a Madeira Sauce. To accompany these dishes we served Buttered Baby Potatoes, Broccoli, Carrots and Green Beans.
For a change to the trio of desserts we served individual dessert selection that included a Glazed French Lemon Tart with Raspberry Coulis.
Along with a Baked “New York” Cheesecake with Berry Compote and Sticky Toffee Pear Pudding with Caramel Sauce. All three desserts were served with Devon Clotted Cream.
After dessert we finished the formal dinner with Fresh Filter Coffee, Tea and Mints.
It was fantastic to be back catering for this event in Tavistock which we have done for a number of years, lovely to see so many familiar faces and to be back with our team providing catering to events across Devon and into Cornwall.
