On Saturday 17th August, we were the chosen wedding caterers for the marriage of Megan and Rob who married outside in the gardens at Lewtrenchard Hotel.
The sun was shining as guests returned to the farm where they had a marquee erected in a field overlooking Dartmoor.
The tables were decorated with a small stack of old fashioned books topped with pretty little jars of simple flowers.
As guests arrived, we greeted them with glasses of refreshing ice cold Pimm’s garnished with fresh fruit, eldeflower presse, bottled beers & cider and J2Os for the little ones. As guests mingled and Amy from the Countryside Photo Co. captured the day on camera, we served a selection of cold and warm canapes including smoked salmon, cream cheese and dill blinis…
…goats cheese, thyme and red onion tartlets…
…miniature butchers sausages with a honey & wholegrain mustard glaze…
…crispy chicken skewers with mustard mayonnaise dip…
…and roast beef miniature Yorkshire puddings with horseradish cream.
For the wedding breakfast, we served a freshly prepared buffet, perfect for the warm summers day including rare Westcountry beef with horseradish and mustards, home cooked gammon ham with a honey glaze, cheese and tomato quiche, new potatoes with herb butter, mixed green leaf salad with wholegrain mustard and olive oil dressing, classic creamy coleslaw, Mediterranean roasted vegetable penne pasta, crunchy cucumber, tomato and spring onion salad with chilli and lime dressing along with a selection of homemade artisan breads and Devon butter and assorted condiments.
To follow, we served a trio of desserts including baby raspberry pavlova, chocolate truffle torte and lemon posset with lemon confit and a biscuit crumb along with bowls of Devon clotted cream. Finally, we poured steaming cups of English breakfast tea and fresh filter coffee along with homemade truffles and mints and glasses of bubbly ready for the speeches.
In the evening, Bob and Sylvia from BK discos got the dance floor going, meanwhile we served a selection of homemade thin crust pizzas topped with margherita, hawaiian and spicy chicken toppings.
We then left the happy couple and their guests to dance the night away. It was also great to work alongside Amy from The Countryside Photo Co.
Thank you Rob and Megan for letting us be a part of your special day and many congratulations once again.
