We are feeling so lucky at the moment as our latest wedding catering – for Katie and Jason in Ashwater, Devon, on the 8th August – was yet again a real privilege for us…

Two lovely families worked together and organised the wedding meticulously, filling it with fun surprises for all involved.

Katie and Jason’s day started with a ceremony at Ashwater church, where the guests were greeted with a choir of gospel singers from Callington, which set the fun vibe off. Following the ceremony the guests came to Jason’s family home where a beautiful marquee was set in the garden. We served Pimm’s and bottles of beer for the boys along with a fab selection of our homemade canapés.

The guests, some of whom have seen us in action before, may have noticed a few new faces among our staff…. more on that later… but only a couple of guests were in on the surprise to come!

With the sun shining, guests mingled, drank and nibbled before being called to sit for the speeches, which were much anticipated and very well received!

The wedding breakfast was then served: local topside of Devon beef, chicken breast from Crediton, stuffed with wild mushrooms, and with Katie’s favourite sauce from our tasting- brandy, cream and garlic.

To follow we offered a light chocolate truffle torte, our legendary individual pavlova with summer berries or lemon panna cotta with shortbread… a nicely balanced choice!

And next came the surprise… as ‘the waiting staff’ placed desserts in front of guests they launched into song and ‘The “Bravo” Singing Waiters’ were revealed. It’s fair to say not one guest remained seated with everyone participating- especially with the conga!

Yet again, it was our pleasure to provide the hospitality for two special people who are so dedicated to each other, and to be so accepted by both families made us feel so welcome. It was our privilege!

We hope you enjoy looking at the pictures as much as we enjoyed being there!
