On Saturday 29th July we were the chosen wedding caterers for the marriage of Lucy and Stuart. The reception was held in a marquee in the garden of Lucy’s family home near Monkokehampton, Devon. Beautiful flowers, including pretty sweet peas, adorned the centre of each table.
A bare tree was ready to receive guests fingerprints as a perfect memento of their day…

The toilet deserves a special mention for being very unique… a compost toilet with a great name – ‘The Thunderbox’.
As the guests arrived we greeted them with glasses of garnished Pimms and lemonade, prosecco, or orange juice.
After some mingling and photos the guests took their seats for the wedding breakfast. We served afternoon tea consisting of freshly cut assorted finger sandwiches with fillings including beef & horseradish; free range egg & cress; home cooked ham & mustard; coronation chicken & rocket; and smoked salmon & cream cheese, along with warm cocktail pasties and a selection of individual savoury quiches.
To follow we served homemade scones topped with Cornish clotted cream and strawberry jam, lemon tart squares, miniature raspberry pavlovas and biteesize chocolate eclairs, all on pretty vintage cake tiers.
Throughout the afternoon tea we poured freshly brewed English breakfast tea and fresh filter coffee and finished with a glass of Prosecco ready for speeches.
After clearing everything away, we left the happy couple and their guests to enjoy the rest of their evening.
