On Saturday 5th May, we were the chosen wedding caterers for the marriage of Sarah and Mitch. The couple married in the conservatory at the Milky Way, under the green canopy of foliage.
Following the ceremony, we greeted guests on the lawn in the sunshine, with glasses of bubbling Prosecco, garnished with fresh English strawberries, bottled beers and cloudy lemonade.
The barn looked beautiful with gorgeous flowers like these arranged by Val Shadrick, and lace table runners adorning the rustic wooden trestle tables. It was also great to work alongside James from Motion Farm Photography.
As the guests mingled in the sunshine, we served a selection of cold and warm canapes including miniature assorted poppadoms topped with coronation chicken and micro coriander; chicken liver pate and homemade Mediterranean chutney on crostini; goats cheese, thyme and red onion tartlets; roast beef miniature yorkshire puddings with horseradish cream…
…miniature butchers sausages with a honey & wholegrain mustard glaze and sundried tomato arancini with tomato chilli dip.
For the main course, we served individual steak and ale pies with jugs of gravy…
…chicken breast, wrapped in smoked bacon, stuffed with wild mushrooms, served with madeira sauce…
…and sweet potato, mozzarella, sun dried tomato and basil filo tart with homemade pesto alongside dishes of creamy mashed potato, and a medley of spring vegetables. For the smaller people, we served local butchers sausages with mashed potato.
For dessert, we served sticky toffee pudding with lashings of sticky toffee sauce, baked vanilla cheesecake with summer berry compote…
…and tart au citron with fresh raspberry coulis, all served with bowls of Devon clotted cream.
In the evening, we cleared the tables leaving plenty of room for the happy couple and their guests to dance the night away after an hour spent on the dodgems. Thank you Sarah and Mitch for letting us be a part of your special day and many congratulations once again.
